Re-opening safely

We are happy to announce that we will be reopening our wraparound care. The staff are really looking forward to seeing and working once again with all of your children. Thank you all for your support and patience.

Procedures have been put in place to keep us all safe. We have done our best to minimise risk, but it is essential that parents and carers understand that although we believe we can significantly reduce the risk of any potential spread of infection, we cannot remove it entirely.

By sending your children back to Schools Out Club, you are agreeing to abide by the procedures put in place to keep us all safe.

Safety procedures

The main principles of safety to be observed are:

  • Parents dropping off and collecting from the outdoor garden area to avoid unnecessary contact.
  1. Hand washing hygiene improved and monitored.
  2. Parent responsibility to not send any child in with any symptoms.

Additional safety measures implemented at Schools Out Club are:

  • Prior to arrival staff to sanitise all chairs, tables, door handles, sink taps and toilet leavers (to be repeated every hour on the hour)
  • Temperature to be taken on arrival (Breakfast Club)
  • Hand washing on entry into the setting for staff / children.
  • No mass meetings such as whole group register - children will now be marked in as they are collected / arrive
  • Children briefed on need to remain ‘alert’ and socially distance the best they can when playing
  • A reduced number of children at the tea table 4 (previously 8) after tea children are to wash hands and staff to wipe down the area used by previous child
  • Children to bring in a named water bottle
  • Visitors kept to a minimum
  • No volunteers onsite
  • Parents not permitted into the setting, all children will be collected (Breakfast) or brought out (After School) to parents in the garden area. parents should ring: 07394060793 or email: for information. If the query is of an urgent nature a staff member will come out to speak with parent/carer
  • Families to leave premises as soon as they have collected children.
  • Maximised use of outdoor space for play
  • Signs within the setting to encourage hand washing, distancing and respiratory hygiene
  • No ad-hoc care - to be reviewed
  • Social distancing implemented where possible

After School Club

The children are provided with a balanced meal every evening, with the alternative being fresh fruit or crackers and cheese if the main meal is not desired.

All children are free to play and participate in a planned variety of activities; this includes cooking, imaginative play, arts and crafts, sports, drama, dance and music. A cooked tea from a planned menu is carefully provided taking into consideration special dietary needs.

Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club opens each morning providing the children with a nutritious and healthy start to the day.

The menu choice always includes cereals, toast, yoghurt and fresh fruit.

Before the children are escorted to class they have time to play and participate in planned crafts.
