Residential Trips
Overnight educational visits are an important part of our curriculum.
We currently run two residential school journeys at Fircroft. We believe in the importance of providing pupils with opportunities to experience outdoor learning much further afield. Therefore both our Year 4 and Year 6 pupils have the chance to take part in residential trips and we know that their memories of these experiences are amongst their most treasured from their primary school years!
Our Year 4 children will visit Phasels Wood and our Year 6 children head off to PGL.

Year 4: Phasels Wood - Monday 19th - Wednesday 21st May 2025
Our Year 4 pupils will stay at the Phasels Wood Activity Centre, Hertfordshire with its unique accommodation. With a focus on bushcraft and outdoor learning, pupils will take part in a wide range of fun and challenging outdoor activities including shelter building, scavenger hunts, forest games, sports, and generally exploring the great outdoors!
This trip is thoroughly risk-assessed and all activities are highly suitable for the year group.

Phasels Wood Presentation - May 2025
Year 6: PGL - Monday 16th June - Thursday 19th June 2025
The PGL centre we will be visiting is Osmington Bay, Dorset. Located at the heart of the Jurassic Coast, Osmington Bay Adventure Centre is set on 45 acres of ground with access to the beach and stunning views across the sea. This is one of PGL’s biggest centres with superb facilities, great watersports and more activities than you can count! From dragon boating to Jacob’s ladder, all the adventure activities at Osmington Bay are designed to bring out the best in our pupils, as they work together, learn new skills and have lots of fun in the process.
The accommodation blocks hold rooms with 4-6 beds, all with en-suite facilities. For many of the children, this experience will be the one that they will remember well into their adulthood!
