'Success for all, in all we do'

Welcome to Year 2!

What a brilliant first week it has been! It has been such a pleasure to see 2C and 2D return to school with such excitement and huge smiles on their faces. Parents it has also been a delight to meet many of you (from a distance) and give you a wave.

We have spent lots of time getting to know our new classes and classrooms. We also spent time talking about our worries about returning to school as well as writing our hopes for Year 2 on a hope cloud.

Our new topic is Muck, Mess and Mixtures which really doesn't need much explaining and I'm sure you had some mucky children on Wednesday after we made slime. The children had such fun and really enjoyed getting their hands dirty while experimenting and mixing with different resources. Take a look at some of the pictures below.

We also created some fantastic self-portraits. Take a look below:

On top of all this fun the children wrote some fantastic recounts of their summer. We were very impressed with their writing (we owe that all to you parents and carers) That hard work of lockdown has certainly paid off!

Reminders:

  • PE days are on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please send your children in their PE kits. No change of clothes is needed.

  • We are sending all children home with a reading book on Monday as we are still in the process of assessing what stage the children should be on.
