'Success for all, in all we do'

Welcome Back Year 4

Dear Year 4 Parents and Children,

We have had such a great first week (and a couple of days) back at school. Things look a little bit different and we are still finding our feet in lots of the organisation around the class, the school and the running of the day in this 'new normal'. BUT - you have all been brilliant. Thanks for your patience and support in helping us with this.

We have really enjoyed the start to Year 4 and getting to know all of the wonderful characters in our classes. We are really looking forward to getting to know our children and families more as the year continues.

If you have any concerns or would like to get in touch with us, please use our email address -

Sadly, we are not able to meet you informally after school as we are used to being able to do. However, we will be holding a Virtual Welcome Meeting on the week commencing 14.9.20. Please look out for confirmation of the time and date.

Please read on for some notices about the rest of this week and the term to come.

Kind Regards

Mr Plews and Miss Arnold

Homework will not start in full swing until week 4 - week commencing 21.9.20 - however, spellings will be sent home from this week.

Children will be given 5 spellings to learn each week. These will be recorded in their small yellow spelling books. These will also be written here on the blog. Please help your child practise their spellings ready for their Spelling Quiz on Thursday.

New spellings will go out on Friday.

This week's spellings are:

  1. arrive
  2. breath
  3. busy
  4. disappear
  5. heard

Excite Event

This week we are starting our topic with gusto. We are hoping to make our own weird and wonderful potions in class to mark the beginning of POTIONS.

If you have any clear bottles that you can contribute to this cause (plastic or glass) which we can use to put our potions in that would be very much appreciated. The more interesting the bottle the better. Please bring these in by Friday for us to use in our potion making session.

We will be posting photos of these here next week.
