'Success for all, in all we do'

Week 4 Blog

Another fun week of learning!

As part of our People Who Help Us topic we have been very busy learning about all different sorts of animals that might live in a zoo. We know that zoo keepers are a good example of people who help us, and we learnt that vets are needed to look after zoo animals too. Imagine having to give an elephant medicine or a lion an injection! We continued to role-play in our vets surgery, but our animals have become a little more exotic...

We read lots of different books about zoo animals including Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell and Poo in the Zoo by Steve Smallman. There was a lot to talk about in both books and we named familiar animals and also learnt the names of some less familiar animals. I wonder if your child can tell you about one of the stories we have shared?

We've also had lots of fun singing The Animal Boogie and having a go at moving our bodies like different animals. The song and book can be found on Youtube if you fancy a go at home!

Well done for another week of super learning!
