'Success for all, in all we do'

Summer Term - Year 1 Learning from Home Activities - week beginning 6th July 2020

Hi everyone,

We hope you are well and that you have had a great week despite the drastic change in the weather!

We now have our final bubbles settled in with us at school and whilst it is lovely to have so many back with us, we haven't forgotten those of you still busily working away at home! Here is a selection of photos from home and school:

Shout Outs:

Last week we heard all about Danny's plan for capturing the pheasants but will he be able to keep it a secret from his friends at school? Find out as Miss Arnold reads the next thrilling installment:

We are exploring a new book in English this week and Miss Becker is back with not 1, not 2 but 4 films to tell you all about it! You can find the links on the Home Learning grid below.

Hola Year 1!

This week in Spanish we will be learning about how schools in Spain and the UK differ. Follow the link below to find out more!

Many of the children in our bubbles have been talking about Roblox and YouTubers in class.. With the summer holidays fast approaching, we are sure many children will relax by spending more time online. 'Think You Know', an organisation run in association with the CEOP, have come up with these parent guides to help you ensure that your child is gaming safely and also to help you understand what they are playing!

'Adopt Me' is one of the most popular games on the Roblox platform. However, some players have reported either witnessing or experiencing scamming whilst in the game.. Blue Peter have released this guide explaining what scamming means and how to avoid it.

Lastly, just a quick reminder that the Sharing Seeds and Tooting Market initiatives are still running if you would like to take part. All the information can be found on last week's blog.

Below you will find the Home Learning activities and all the resources you need for this week. Remember, our message remains the same - please only do what you can, when you can - your well-being must take priority over everything else.

Have a great week and we will be back with our final week of Home Learning next Monday.

Stay safe, stay happy,

Miss Becker and Miss Arnold
