Our Wonderful World!

Welcome Back! We hope you all had a restful and enjoyable half term break, despite the wet and stormy weather!

The children were amazed to see that their cosy home corners had been transformed over the holiday into our very own class cruise ships! They have been busy exploring maps of the world and planning where they would like to travel to.

We have also been discussing Bonfire Night and creating our own firework pictures and building our own rockets! We watched some firework displays and listened to the different sounds the fireworks made as they whizzed through the air.

This week we have kicked off our journey around our Wonderful World with a tour around London on a big red bus. We began to learn some new facts about London by taking a picture walk through the story 'The Royal Baby's Big Red Bus' by Martha Mumford. The children discussing the pictures and shared facts they already knew about the different landmarks in the story.

Of course our week has come to quite an abrupt end. Thank you for picking up your children so promptly and for your understanding at this difficult time.

We have prepared some home learning activities for you to do with your child next week. These will go live on Tapestry at 9am on Monday morning. Please note that you need to log in to the website and not the app to access these.

If you have any problems accessing your Tapestry account, please email us at intake20@fircroft.family

Next Wednesday 11th November is Remembrance Day. You might like to watch this CBeebies clip commemorating this important event.

Take care and stay safe,
